The Recruitment Bunker are recruiting exclusively for Vehicle Assembly Technician for a leading automotive company based in Darlington.

Company Overview

Our client is a restoration company based in Darlington, England. They are an industry-leading specialist in the automotive sector that have been restoring Jaguar E-Types for over 30 years. As part of the meticulous restoration process, every component is created in-house by our master craftsmen, ensuring the original authenticity of the car is maintained whilst implementing modern chassis, drive train, suspension, and braking systems.

This year, they are undertaking a revolutionary period of growth as we look toward increasing our volume of production and re-launching the business worldwide. Currently in the process of moving to a new 30,000 square foot custom designed facility in Darlington complete with cutting edge manufacturing machinery and modern new assembly lines so that our master craftsmen can continue making the world\'s best cars and car parts with the highest precision and quality at scale.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a Zero Incident safety culture
  • Ensure code of conduct and policies are embraced and followed
  • Assembly/final assembly of full Production cars
  • Use of Hand tools
  • Fitment of produced Engines and gearboxes into vehicles including suspension
  • Fitment of differentials and break systems
  • Electrical wires and connections to be installed
  • Final body alignment checks, including wheel alignment
  • First time engine start up diagnostics to be run
  • Final tuning
  • Responsibility for the overall quality of the work produced
  • Continually looking for opportunities to develop and make build process better, safer, more efficient
  • Maintain a clean, professional, and safe working environment
Essential Skills:
  • Experience of working in an automotive environment
  • Proven ability of working on vehicle and final assembly
  • Experience of working on classic cars
  • Craftsmanship assembly methods where final fit and appearance has a complete focus on attention to detail
  • Understanding safe methods of working
  • A strong understanding of manufacturing/assembly processes
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • A hands-on approach
  • Ability to work coherently with other team members to deliver to the highest standards
  • Enthusiastic & passionate about what you do and our products - Striving to go the extra mile.
  • Driving license is essential for this role as you will be required to drive and test vehicles
  • Ability to use diagnostic systems
