Your expertise will play a crucial role in supporting our bodyshop operations and maintaining high standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out thorough visual and technical assessments of damaged vehicles.
Produce accurate repair estimates using industry-standard systems (e.g., Audatex).
Communicate effectively with insurance companies to gain repair authorizations.
Liaise with customers to explain repair processes, costs, and timelines.
Work closely with workshop staff to ensure repairs are carried out according to estimates and safety standards.
Review completed repairs to ensure quality control and compliance with insurer requirements.
Maintain detailed records of assessments, communications, and repair progress.
Ensure that all work complies with relevant industry guidelines and company procedures.
Support continuous improvement efforts in estimating processes and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor or in a similar automotive/bodyshop role.
IMI Accreditation or ATA VDA Qualification (desirable but not always essential).
Proficiency in using estimating software such as Audatex or Glassmatix.
Strong knowledge of vehicle construction and repair methods.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple assessments simultaneously.
Valid UK driving licence (or as applicable in your country).
Desirable Skills:
Experience working with major insurers and understanding their requirements.
Familiarity with electric and hybrid vehicle repair processes.
Customer service training or experience in customer-facing roles.
