About the role



To undertake routine maintenance, minor accident repairs, installation of equipment and scheduled vehicle inspections to Ocado fleet vehicles including:


To undertake routine maintenance, minor accident repairs, installation of equipment and scheduled vehicle inspections to Ocado fleet vehicles including: Repair of Ocado fleet vehicles in accordance with the defect report Minor accident repair Electrical repairs Van 'health check' periodic inspections Wheel changing Minor repair of LGV equipment Technology installation, repair and removal including collision cameras, telematics etc Safe and appropriate use of tools and equipment Regular inspection and defecting of workshop tools and equipment as required Working at height as is necessary to complete vehicle repairs Unloading vans where required to allow repairs to be undertaken Assessment of fridge defects prior to calling fridge engineer

Asset and minor site repair and maintenance duties



To undertake asset and minor site maintenance duties, including visual inspections and minor repairs, inline with relevant training and company policy and procedures including:


Inspections and checks of site equipment as directed by Ocado Site management. Minor repair of site equipment Inspection and repair of site delivery equipment (i.e. sack barrows) Safe and appropriate use of tools and equipment Regular inspection and defecting of workshop tools and equipment as required. Working at height as is necessary to complete repairs and inspections.

Administration and General Duties



Completion of relevant administrative duties, to ensure the documentation of tasks undertaken in this role, including parts ordering, defecting of tools, and equipment, completion of relevant inspection document and pre-use checks including:





Completion of FMS cost page prior to defects being closed Spare part ordering and stock control Completion of 3rd party invoices as required to support insurance claims Reporting of damage or defects via the correct company procedure Correct completion of all relevant defect documents in line with legal requirements, company policy and procedures.Undertake a clean as you go policy in workshops and maintenance areas

Health And Safety



Ensure that the job role is undertaken in line with all training and Safe Systems of Work, and in line with legislative requirements including:


The undertaking and completion of the relevant training for all equipment used, and tasks undertaken Be responsible for their own safety and must not do anything which is likely to cause injury or risks to health and safety of other persons Observe all site safety rules at all times When using substances in the course of their work use, handle and store them in the prescribed manner Wear and use appropriate safety clothing and equipment when required Act on all reasonable instructions given by persons responsible for health and safety matters Report all accidents, which may or may not involve injury to person or damage to property or equipment, immediately to their line manager Report all potential hazards to their line manager and use the hazard reporting system

Skills and experience



Current UK Driving Licence Previous experience in motor vehicle maintenance / repair / engineering or manufacture Analytical fault finding skills Self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision Able to work under pressure. Clear communicator Able to communicate in a technical way with service and material suppliers Must be willing to travel to other locations when required Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google suite Vehicle inspection experience to MOT standards Recognised industry qualification Good understanding of safe systems of work and H&S Working within a Body repair facility
