The role

As a Vehicle Mechanic, you'll be at the heart of our defence engineering operations, ensuring military vehicles and equipment are mission-ready. This is a hands-on role where your technical expertise will directly support UK defence capability. You'll be part of a close-knit team maintaining and repairing a wide range of vehicles and electrical systems, helping to keep our armed forces mobile, safe and effective.

Day-to-day you'll be:

Diagnosing, inspecting and assessing vehicles and mechanical or electrical equipment Completing servicing, repairs, maintenance and overhauls to required standards Creating job cards and managing materials using ERP systems (SAP training provided) Completing documentation and test certificates to current standards Ensuring correct use of tools, stores and equipment, and returning unused or faulty items



Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.





Please note that this position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.





This is a full-time, permanent role working 37 hours per week. The role is based on site at Newcastle.

Essential experience of the Vehicle Mechanic:

Previous experience in a similar role within a dealership, local garage or military setting Strong knowledge of hydraulics systems Proven ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities Experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults

Qualifications for the Vehicle Mechanic:

NVQ Level 3 Service and Repair

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
