Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work with various tools and equipment.

Duties

Conduct MOT tests in accordance with current regulations and standards. Inspect vehicles for compliance with safety and environmental requirements. Use hand tools and power tools effectively to perform necessary repairs or adjustments. Document findings and prepare detailed reports on the condition of vehicles. Communicate with customers regarding test results, necessary repairs, and recommendations. Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all equipment is properly stored and maintained. Assist in heavy lifting tasks as required during vehicle inspections or repairs.

Requirements

Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance or repair. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Ability to perform heavy lifting as part of daily tasks. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills. Good communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively. Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive engineering or a related field are advantageous but not essential.
