Vehicle Technician


Glasgow


20 per hour +





We are seeking an experienced Level 3 Vehicle Technician to join our team on a full-time basis, working Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. In this role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive repair, servicing, and maintenance of all vehicles in our fleet. You will diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of safety and quality. This position requires a time-served technician with advanced technical knowledge and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:



Perform diagnostic testing and fault-finding on vehicles using specialist equipment and tools Carry out planned and unplanned repairs to engines, transmissions, suspension, braking systems, and electrical components Conduct routine servicing including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups, and component inspections Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all work completed Ensure all vehicles are safe and roadworthy before release to operational use Identify and report vehicle defects and recommend corrective actions Adhere to all health and safety regulations and workshop procedures Collaborate with team members and management to prioritize workload and meet deadlines Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards

Candidate Profile



We are looking for candidates who bring substantial hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance, combined with a methodical approach to problem-solving and a commitment to excellence. The ideal technician will have completed a recognized apprenticeship or time-served training, possess in-depth knowledge of vehicle systems, and demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced workshop environment.

Experience & Expertise Required:



Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent formal training in vehicle mechanics or engineering Proven experience at Level 3 or equivalent in vehicle repair, servicing, and maintenance Competence in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults across multiple vehicle types Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and workshop machinery Knowledge of vehicle safety standards, MOT requirements, and relevant legislation Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service specifications

This position plays a critical role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and operational readiness of our vehicle fleet. Success in this role is measured by the quality of repairs completed, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to minimize vehicle downtime.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 20.00-21.00 per hour
