Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in welding and fabrication, with a focus on TIG welding and sheet metal work. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to work with various hand and power tools to assemble components accurately and efficiently.

Duties

Perform TIG welding and other welding techniques as required. Fabricate components from sheet metal, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications. Utilise hand tools and power tools for assembly tasks, maintaining high standards of workmanship. Interpret technical drawings and schematics to guide fabrication processes. Conduct quality checks on completed assemblies to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations. Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.

Experience

Proven experience in welding, particularly TIG welding, is essential. Familiarity with local welding practices is advantageous. Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise. Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks. Previous experience in assembly work is desirable, showcasing attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks.
