About the role
We're recruiting a Venue Manager to lead an exciting brand-new bar opening at Carlisle Railway Station. The venue is currently in the refurbishment phase and will offer a drinks-led experience focused on great beer, a beautifully curated back bar and quality cocktails.
This is a hands-on management role in a high-footfall, high-visibility location, welcoming both travellers passing through the station and locals looking for a great bar worth returning to.
You'll play a key role in shaping the atmosphere, service style and standards from day one - creating a venue that feels efficient, welcoming and memorable.
Support & structure
You won't be doing this alone. You'll be supported by our experienced senior management team and work alongside another railway station venue manager, allowing for shared knowledge, collaboration and cover when needed.
What you'll be doing
Leading the venue day-to-day and setting standards for service, pace and presentation
Creating a warm, efficient customer experience for both station travellers and local guests
Delivering a strong beer- and cocktail-led offering, with attention to detail throughout
Recruiting, training and motivating a confident, guest-focused team
Leading from the floor while managing rotas, stock, cash, compliance and admin
Working closely with senior management during the opening phase and beyond
Championing the venue within the station environment and local community
Taking pride in cleanliness, atmosphere and overall guest flow
What we're looking for
Experience as a Venue Manager, Bar Manager or Assistant Manager
