We are seeking candidate who would like to work either day or night shifts.

Canning Town is Celia Hammond Animal Trust's (CHAT) East London Centre for veterinary care, rescue and rehoming. Looking after owned pets, and rescued animals you will have the opportunity to support our veterinary team in caring for rescued, abused and unwanted animals. Working for CHAT, you will be making a difference to the welfare of animals in London bringing animals back to health and into new loving homes.

This is a real hands on role and you will be fully involved with all aspects of nursing care and welfare to animals at the clinic. Your initiative will be encouraged and valued in this busy environment.

If you have good experience in a Vet Nurse Assistant role and you are passionate about animal welfare, this could be the role for you.

Responsibilities

Assist RVNs during procedures and examinations Administer oral medications as prescribed Maintain accurate medical records and update patient files Provide pre- and post-operative care to animals Ensure the cleanliness, feeding and care of inpatients Sterilisation of equipment Maintain cleanliness and organisation of clinic, preventing cross contamination Handle animals safely and compassionately during procedures and examinations

Requirements

At least one year experience in a Veterinary Care Assistant role Previous experience in an animal rescue environment is a benefit but not essentials Familiarity with clinical procedures is highly desirable Strong organisational skills with attention to detail Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in animal welfare Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the practice
