Are you ready to experience life in one of the most beautiful and peaceful regions of the UK? The Highlands offer an unparalleled lifestyle, with breathtaking landscapes, outdoor adventures, and a welcoming community. Imagine waking up to stunning views of mountains and lochs, enjoying outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, and exploring charming villages. Whether you're a nature lover, outdoor enthusiast, or someone seeking a slower pace of life, the Highlands provide the perfect backdrop to balance work and play.
At Crown Vets, we're looking for a passionate and dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our expanding team. If you love animals and want to be part of a supportive, close-knit team while living in one of the UK's most desirable locations, this is the role for you.
Expand Your Skillset
Within this role you will be working across three practices within Inverness and will be part of a well-established team providing nurse consults, theatre nursing and inpatient care. You will be supported by our team of Veterinary Care Assistants and a dedicated dispensary assistant so your time can be utilised doing what you do best. All our nurses are encouraged to grow their skills and the team size means you will get time to learn from each other. We have three sites within Inverness so you will get to enjoy the hustle and bustle of a busy surgical site and the peacefulness of consulting only surgeries. No two days are the same giving you a varied workload and a good mix of cases.
Interested in learning more?
We operate three veterinary practices in Inverness, providing top-notch first opinion care for a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, small mammals, birds, and exotics. Our main branch in Crown offers the excitement and challenge of a busy practice, while our Culloden and Canalside locations provide a more relaxed environment with sole charge consulting. Additionally, we have access to a CT scanner at our nearby Highland Vet Referral practice.
Work With an Amazing Team
At Crown Vets, our team consists of 14 Veterinary Surgeons, 9 Registered Veterinary Nurses (including 4 Student Nurses), and a dedicated support staff including Veterinary Care Assistants, a Pharmacy Dispenser, and a highly capable front desk and office team. Two of our vets are currently pursuing certificates to further develop their expertise.
We are proud of our close-knit team that celebrates each other's successes and offers support during tough times. Our positive work environment is built on strong relationships and teamwork. We enjoy regular staff events, activities, and outings, but nothing brings us together more than our fundraising efforts for the local community. Over the years, we've raised more than 12,000, completed a 24-hour kennel stay, a 12-hour bike-a-thon, and tackled the world's largest inflatable obstacle course. We've also raised funds to provide 50 pet oxygen masks to Highland fire stations, installed outdoor defibrillators at all three of our sites, and launched our own pet food bank to support the local community.
Working Hours
This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, with participation in the Saturday rota. There are no out-of-hours duties associated with this role. We are open to part-time applications and happy to discuss flexible working options.
