Horner Vets was set up during the pandemic and we have grown rapidly. With a loyal client base we have gained a great reputation very quickly. We are looking for an addtional VCA to support our RVNs and Vets in their patient and client care. The successful individual will be encouraged to grow in the role to become an invaluable member of the team.

The core purpose of the VCA will be to provide assistance and support to all members of the team, notably the Veterinary Surgeons and Nurses.
Much of the role will focus on patient care and biosecurity, with tasks including, but not limited to:
- Tidying down and cleaning clinical areas
- Cleaning, packing and sterilizing surgical kit and equipment
- Patient hygiene and infection control duties
- Administering oral medication when directed by the Veterinary Surgeon
- Preparing theatre under the direction of an RVN
- Collecting and processing samples as directed by an RVN or Veterinary Surgeon
- Ensuring surgical equipment is cleaned and sterilised appropriately
- Ensuring optimum cleanliness of all practice areas including the staff room and toilet
- Answering the phone
- Booking appointments
- Registering new clients
- Promoting Wellness Subscriptions
- Scheduling procedures
- Day inpatient admissions*
- Inpatient discharges*
- Provide the highest care to inpatients
- Restraining patients when required
- Surgical preparation
- Anaesthetic monitoring*
- Supporting with radiographic imaging
- Ensuring optimum cleanliness of kennelling and cattery facilities
- Managing consumable stock control
- Supporting the Client Account Manager team in their daily duties
- Supporting the MRCVS team in their daily duties
- Attending team meetings
- Contributing to practice management meetings both content and agenda items
- Generation of ideas to offer the best care
- Market and competitor research where required
- Support of the business owner and associates in data collection where required
- Maintain relevant and up to date with CPD
- Client account manager training where applicable
- Set personal goals to contribute to business success
- Attend regular coaching sessions
- Attend practice promotional events
