This role offers the unique opportunity to work outside of a traditional clinic environment, delivering personalised, in-home care to pets and their owners. Assist in the administration of treatments

under the direct supervision of a veterinary professional, such as applying topical treatments, preparing injections, and basic wound care prep (within legal and ethical limits).

Accurately document observations and care tasks

using the VetNearHome platform, including behaviour notes, client interactions, and any owner concerns.

Communicate clearly and professionally

with clients, representing VetNearHome's standards of empathy, reliability, and high-quality care.

Coordinate with the wider VetNearHome team

, including veterinarians, nurses, and partner clinics, to ensure each visit is well-supported and any follow-ups or referrals are properly managed.

Stay informed on best practices in animal handling, welfare, and home-based care

through ongoing learning and commitment to professional growth.
Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience

working with animals in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital.

Strong, confident animal handling skills

, including experience restraining nervous, aggressive, or large animals in varied environments.

A professional reference

from a veterinary surgeon, nurse, or supervisor who can verify competence in animal handling and client interaction. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage pet owners in a calm, supportive, and respectful manner. A genuine passion for animal welfare, with a commitment to low-stress handling and positive owner experiences during home visits. Comfortable working independently in clients' homes, with a high level of

personal responsibility, reliability, and discretion

. Access to personal transportation, and willingness to travel locally to client appointments. Possession of (or willingness to obtain)
