Veterinary Care Assistant

to join our inclusive team at our brand new referral practice in London.

Optivet Referrals is an independent Specialist Ophthalmology referral hospital. We aim to provide exceptional clinical and customer care in all disciplines. Based in Morden, London our practice has the latest equipment and facilities to help provide the essential care our patients need.

About the role

This is a permanent full time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

The role is a multi-disciplinary role, working as a Veterinary Care assistant as well as supporting clients on reception when needed.

As a VCA (Veterinary Care Assistant), you will work alongside specialist veterinary surgeons and RVNs to provide excellent care for inpatients, assist in theatres, prepare and clean equipment, maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the hospital and provide assistance where required.

As a Receptionist, you will be answering calls, booking appointments, greeting clients, liaising with the team, processing payments and accurately recording information.

About you

To succeed in this role, you must be dynamic, well organised with exceptional attention to detail. You must be able to show empathy and work in a fast-paced environment, whilst remaining calm and demonstrating exemplary team-working skills.

Above all, you must be passionate about providing a high standard and quality of care to our patients and clients.

In addition:

Proven strong and effective verbal communication techniques both on the telephone and face to-face. Demonstrates a professional level of English language when sending out written communication. Understand the ethical requirements of a referral veterinary practice. Strong computer skills. Experience in a similar role is preferable but not essential

Our package

Starting Base salary 25,500 (experience dependant, reviewed after successful probation)

25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays (pro rata for part time employees) (we also allow an extra 5 days for length of service).
