Veterinary Care Assistant/ Veterinary Receptionist

12 month contract

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Care Assistant/ Veterinary Receptionist to join our wonderful team at Swanzdale Veterinary Care Centre on a 12 month contract.

The position is full time with flexibility to cover holidays and staff sickness, the role will include some Saturday morning cover. Please note our main practice is based at Scalby road, with a branch practice in Cloughton, you will be required to work at both sites.

Duties will include assisting our Vet and Nursing team with restraining animals for treatment, cleaning the kennels and cattery, running internal lab samples and working in the dispensary handling medication.

You will be required to cover the reception desk during holidays and sickness, duties will include meeting and greeting pets and their owners, scheduling appointments, handling telephone enquiries, responding to emails and processing payments.

You must possess excellent client care skills, be a confident communicator and have a genuine love for animals. Previous experience is preferred, ideally gained from working within a veterinary practice or similar.
