Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, along with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This role is essential in supporting our veterinary staff in providing high-quality care to our patients and ensuring a positive experience for pet owners.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals. Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment is sterilised and ready for use. Maintain accurate patient records and assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and answering client queries. Ensure cleanliness of the facility, including kennels, treatment areas, and waiting rooms. Educate pet owners on proper animal care practices and post-treatment instructions.

Requirements

Previous veterinary experience is highly desirable, providing familiarity with animal handling and clinical procedures. Laboratory experience is an advantage, particularly in performing diagnostic tests. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends or holidays if required.
