Due to the growth of our thriving small animal, first opinion RCVS General Practice accredited practice we are looking for a motivated, registered veterinary nurse to join our enthusiastic team which operates a high standard of nursing care.
We have excellent facilities and benefit from being next to the referral hospital, ensuring excellent access for our clients. The First opinion and referral services collaborate as a team for complete patient support, ensuring the highest standard of patient care. Duties will include inpatient care, anaesthesia, radiography, laboratory work and nursing clinics.
Working 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with up to 1 in 3 weekends (currently 1 in 5 Saturdays).

The practice nurse team currently consists of 8 nurses, 2 student nurses and an animal care assistant and works closely with our Vets and Reception team.

A typical day
Some of your day-to-day tasks could include:
- Assisting veterinary surgeons with clinical procedures
- Monitoring anaesthesia
- Assist with consultations
- Cleaning wounds and removing stitches
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Dispensing and administering medication to animals
About you/You will need:
General
Positive work ethic

Role specific
Registered veterinary nurse
Confidence and experience in effective handling and restraint of animals
Ability to carry out veterinary nurse duties as listed in job description
Experience of supervising veterinary students is desirable
