Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and organised individual to join our dedicated and friendly team of Nursing Assistants and Receptionists. In this role, you will divide your time between assisting Vets and Registered Veterinary Nurses to provide care for our patients, and joining the Reception team as the first point of contact for pet owners. Our team aim to provide exceptional customer service and provide excellent care for our patients. Your ability to multitask and communicate effectively will ensure a smooth operation and a welcoming environment for both clients and their beloved pets. Your love of animals and caring for them will support other members of the team in patient care.

Duties

Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, ensuring a friendly atmosphere. Schedule appointments and manage the booking system efficiently. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, treatments, and general pet care. Maintain accurate patient records and update information as necessary. Process payments and manage billing inquiries with attention to detail. Assist veterinary staff with laboratory tasks as needed, ensuring compliance with health regulations. Handle client concerns with empathy and professionalism, escalating issues to management when required. Keep the reception area tidy and organised, creating a welcoming space for clients. Assist Vets and RVNs with patient care, including during consultations, in the patient wards and during procedures and operations.

Skills

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong customer service orientation. Proficiency in administrative tasks, including scheduling software and record management. Experience in a veterinary or animal care environment is highly desirable. Knowledge of laboratory procedures related to veterinary practices is an advantage. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. A genuine love for animals and an understanding of their needs will enhance your success in this role. Ability to work well in a team and support other team members. Caring nature to look after both patients and clients.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 11,428.56-14,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 18 - 22 per week
