As a Veterinary Physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for patients through assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation strategies. We have two underwater treadmills, land-based equipment, various forms of electrotherapy including Class IV LASER. We are a team of 11 including veterinary physiotherapists, registered veterinary nurses, veterinary surgeons and assistants working together to provide pain management and rehabilitation therapy for small animal patients.
Our busiest times are evenings and weekends so an agreed rota would include some work at these times.
What you'll do
Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate patients' physical conditions and needs.
Develop and implement individual physiotherapy care plans based on patient goals and clinical findings.
Utilise hydrotherapy, physiotherapy and electrotherapy techniques to treat patients
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care, including discharge planning and follow-up services.
Educating owners on at home care and exercise plans
Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress using cliniko software
Stay updated with the latest advancements in physiotherapy practices to enhance service delivery
Experience
A degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution is required, or a student nearing the end of study of a physiotherapy qualification at level 6 or above
Or a Registered Veterinary Nurse with physiotherapy qualifications
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential for effective practice
Experience with home & community care is preferred to support diverse patient needs
A commitment to ongoing professional development in physiotherapy techniques and methodologies
Experience of working as part of a team
Excellent communication skills
