We are a very busy, small animal practice requiring a Veterinary Receptionist to join our friendly, hard working team.
This is a demanding, fast paced position, and the candidate must be able to work under pressure in our small surgery. We require an enthusiastic, self motivated team member with strong organisational skills, who is able to multi-task in a reactive environment. This line of works means you are likely to encounter distressed and bereaved clients, therefore the ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, empathy and customer service skills and will be able to look after our valued clients in what can often be stressful or emotional situations while maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times.
The position is full time, 40 hours per week with a requirement to work 1 in 4 Saturdays. Our opening hours are 8.30am - 7.30pm (Saturday 9-4), and there will be a rota within these hours.
Duties include booking appointments, answering telephone and email queries, managing and ordering stock, making up dispensed medications, charging clients, banking, day-to-day cleaning and giving general advice. There may also be some requirement to assist the veterinary surgeon or nurse with holding animals during consults.
We require a candidate with previous customer facing reception experience who is computer literate. Experience in a veterinary environment would be preferred.
