Orchard Vets Glastonbury Limited is an independent Veterinary Practice dedicated to providing exceptional care for domestic pets. Our mission is to ensure the health and well-being of animals in our community.

Summary

We are seeking a Veterinary Receptionist to join our team in Glastonbury. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for our clients, creating a warm and welcoming environment while supporting our veterinary team in delivering high-quality animal care. Our reception area is fast-paced and varied, so strong multitasking skills and a calm, confident manner are essential.

Alongside your front-of-house duties, you will also act as our Social Media Advocate--helping to promote the practice, share our activities, and engage our community through thoughtful, creative communication. Working Hours (averaging 26.5 per week)

Tuesday to Friday afternoons 12.30pm to 6.30pm (with the occasional full day x 7 per annum approx.)
Plus 16 weekends per annum - Saturday 8.45am-1pm & Sundays 9.45am-1pm

Flexibility with working hours is required to cover holiday, etc.

Responsibilities

Greet clients and their pets warmly, providing excellent customer service. Schedule appointments. Assist with medical record keeping and patient intake processes. Communicate effectively with veterinary staff regarding patient needs. Handle payments and manage financial transactions accurately. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area. Provide information about services offered to clients. Social media posts and engagement via Facebook and Instragram Support the veterinary team with other administrative tasks, as required.
Key skills required

Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor. Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Confident IT skills are essential for scheduling, record-keeping and social media posts Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting would be advantageous.
