This role requires a friendly front of house personality able to offer smiles and sympathy in equal measure and able to do so under pressure. A background in front of house client care in a veterinary or medical environments would be an advantage. You will take pride in looking after pets and their owners, as well as the presentation of the reception area and in accurate recording of messages, client details and transactions. You should be proficient in, or readily able to learn, basic computing skills to book appointments, take payments, and attach documents to emails.
You will need to be comfortable working in a busy veterinary environment (including maintaining confidentiality and working within GDPR) and be able to remain calm and friendly - prioritising face to face interactions with clients while answering multiple telephone, email and online queries.
The role requires 28-32 hours per week spread over 4 days, to include Wednesday evenings until 9pm plus 1:2 Saturday mornings 9am-1pm on a rota basis. This is a 6 month fixed term contract with a view to make permanent at the completion of this period.
Duties include:
Greeting and welcoming clients and their pets
Answering phone calls and transferring them as necessary
Booking appointments
Answering emails and sorting post
Assisting with keeping front of house clean, tidy and welcoming
Liaising closely with a small clinical team of vets and nurses
Keeping the consulting rooms clean and stocked
Carrying out requests from management as needed
Processing payments
Cashing up
