Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic and dedicated full-time Veterinary Receptionist to join our supportive team on a permanent basis, working 4 days a week of 8:30am-7pm.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer-service skills, a genuine love for animals and a desire to provide outstanding care in a fast-paced veterinary environment. We are looking for someone who can offer the most welcoming feel as clients enter the practice, maintain a composed and structured mindset when working under pressure, can efficiently multi-task and supports their colleagues as a committed team player. This customer-facing role will include client care responsibilities, reception-based duties, administration tasks, hygiene and infection control, stock control and some animal care duties. This vacancy involves working primarily at our Stone Cross surgery however flexibility to work across our other 2 surgeries in East Sussex occasionally (Hailsham & Eastbourne) will be required.

Please note, for full transparency: frequently we are overwhelmed with applications from individuals wanting to start in veterinary with a hope for an opportunity to receive nurse training - this has been fantastic to see and whilst we do offer nurse training we are now at full capacity with students, and have training plans in place for the next 5 years so cannot accommodate any more at this time. Whilst this role does include some animal care duties, if you are only wanting to join to receive nurse training then this role is not going to be suitable for that reason. Therefore when applying please be mindful that we are seeking an individual who can whole-heartedly and confidently focus on client care responsibilities and deliver a high standard front-of-house service.

You will work 38.6 hours per week across 4 weekdays, 8:30am-7 pm Monday to Thursday, plus 1:8 Saturday mornings 8:30am-1:30pm at Hailsham surgery.
