We are seeking a professional and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our veterinary practice. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, providing exceptional customer service while managing appointment scheduling, client communication, and administrative duties. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive team committed to animal health and welfare. Previous veterinary experience is highly desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities
Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming environment
Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and reminders efficiently
Answer phone calls promptly, providing accurate information and directing enquiries appropriately
Ensure the practice is ready for opening and closing, managing tills and card machines
Maintain accurate and organised patient records in compliance with data protection regulations
Cleaning and general housekeeping
Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions and follow-up appointments while supporting the clinical team behind the scenes
Ensure the reception area remains clean, organised, and professional at all times
Requirements
Previous customer service experience
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a friendly demeanour
Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
Proficiency in using computer software for scheduling and record keeping
A genuine passion for animal welfare and client service excellence
Good numeracy skills, with the ability to manage payments and cash up.
This role is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to providing outstanding customer care within a veterinary setting. The position offers valuable experience in animal healthcare administration while contributing positively to pet owners' experiences.
You will need to be able to travel to both our Treforest clinic and Tonypandy clinic depending on staff requirements.
34 hours per week which consists of 3 and a 1/2 days 08:30-18:00 The position is paid till 19:00 to accommodate for closing up the practice. The 1/2 day shift is 08:30-14:00.
No weekends, no bank holidays, and no out-of-hours
