Heathside Veterinary Surgery is looking for a friendly, hardworking, compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to be part of our Customer Care Team.
What You'll Be Doing:
Greeting clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism
Schedule appointments and manage the booking system efficiently
Communicating with clients via phone and email
Dispensing medications as directed by the Veterinary Surgeon
Supporting our Veterinary team with admin tasks and client communication
Ensuring a smooth and caring experience for every visitor
Relay accurately and action in a timely manner all messages taken
Taking payments and cashing up
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is up to date
Provide information on services, products, and preventive care to clients
Ensure the reception area is clean, organised, and stocked with necessary supplies

What We're Looking ForExcellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask in a busy environment
A genuine love for animals and empathy for their owners
Previous receptionist or Veterinary experience is a plus, but not essential
Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
An excellent communicator with strong empathy
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other database management and operating systems
A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills

Your shift pattern
This is a full-time role working 42 hours per week, covering a variety of shifts such as 8.30 am to 5.30 pm 9 am to 6 pm 10 am to 7 pm. You will also be included in the 1:4 Saturday rota working 8.30 am to 4 pm.
