We are seeking a friendly and organised Veterinary Receptionist to join our veterinary practice. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations. This role offers an opportunity to work in a compassionate environment, supporting both clients and veterinary staff. Previous veterinary or laboratory experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere
Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate client visits efficiently
Answer phone calls, respond to enquiries, and provide accurate information about services
Maintain accurate patient records and update client information in the database
Process payments and organise invoices promptly
Assist with administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and stock organisation
Support veterinary staff with laboratory sample handling and processing when required
Ensure the reception area remains clean, organised, and professional at all times
Qualifications
Previous experience in a veterinary practice or laboratory environment is desirable but not mandatory
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Friendly, empathetic demeanour with a passion for animal welfare
Ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office)
A flexible attitude towards work hours and responsibilities
This position is ideal for individuals who are committed to providing outstanding client care within a supportive veterinary team. Prior experience in veterinary or laboratory settings will be considered an asset but is not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.
