South Wales Vets are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable person to join our close-knit team. You will be our client's first point of contact, so a professional, courteous manner is essential. ResponsibilitiesGreet customers professionally and handle telephone inquiries promptly. Manage appointment scheduling, including booking, cancelling, and rearranging. Record, pass on, and follow up on enquiries. Process payments, including PDQ machine usage, and allocate on the system. Promote services, manage debt control, and cash up daily. Maintain a clean reception area and process clinic emails. Attend team meetings regularly.


Be part of delivering veterinary excellence

At Blackwood, our team consists of 2 Vets--a highly skilled internal medicine and imaging specialist, and an experienced Vet with over 10 years at the practice. They are supported by our Head Nurse, 4 RVNs, and 2 Receptionists.
Within the group, we have 2 Clinical Directors (specializing in surgery and orthopaedics), a Senior Vet with a surgery certificate, 8 other Vets (including one with an internal medicine certificate), 20 RVNs, and our proactive Practice Manager. Our Clinical Directors are always available for clinical support, and CPD is actively encouraged.

Established over 10 years ago on Malpas Road in Newport, South Wales Vets has expanded to four locations in Blackwood, Risca, and Abertillery. Blackwood offers easy access to Cardiff, Bristol, Newport, and the Brecon Beacons National Park. The clinic has recently been refurbished with spacious waiting areas, 3 consulting rooms, separate cat and dog areas, and excellent surgical and inpatient facilities.

Working pattern

We are looking for someone to join our team on a full-time basis, 40 hours, working 4 days per week 8:30 am to 6 pm, with 1:4 Saturdays and no OOH.
