Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon



Salary: Up to 65,000 per annum (D.O.E.)



Location: Alder Vets, Guildford



Job Type: Permanent. Full-time (open to part-time applicants)



Hours: 40 hours per week over 4 days, 1 in 4 Saturdays (8am-4pm) No OOH



Alder Veterinary Practice is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our amazing team!

Purpose-built clinic providing inpatient emergency care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year enabling continuity in cases and patient care (VetsNow host) Cutting-edge facilities, including diagnostic imaging, digital radiography, laparoscopic spay kit, endoscopy, ultrasound, and in-house blood analysis, fully operational orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery suite with huge potential for expanding our surgical caseload Gold Standard Cat Friendly Clinic with separate waiting, consult room and hospital ward on the other side of the building to ensure a calm environment. Large exotics caseload with separate areas, temperature-controlled exam rooms, specialised equipment and in-house laboratory. With the majority of our clients carrying insurance, you'll have the opportunity to elevate case management to exceptional standards.

The Team



We are a passionate, close-knit team of 4 Vets and 6 nurses plus a wonderful team of support staff and PCA's to support the Vet team to enable the best level of care for our clients and their pets.


We are located within walking distance of amenities including a spa and gym as well as a convenient coffee shop, grocery store and alongside a beautiful park, we can offer great facilities outside the hospital as well as inside and hope that this will aid our great work/life balance ethos.


We strongly believe in investing in our staff, too. Career progression and CPD (including certificates) are encouraged and funded for all staff. If there is an area or discipline, you'd like to explore, we're keen to develop this.

What we're looking for



Our ideal candidate will be confident and experienced in both general surgery and medicine, but you'll have support from us, our excellent nursing team with years of experience, and the wider Linnaeus team, if needed. The most important thing is that you're friendly, empathetic, and have excellent communication skills. Completion of your Vet GDP and RCVS registered.
