Job Description

Here at McMurty & Harding Vets, Ashbourne, we're on the lookout for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our established team on a temporary basis to cover a 12 month maternity contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established team. The role offers a well balanced caseload of ops and consults. This particular role will be based at our Ashbourne site, but there will be occasions when you'll need to cover at the Wirksworth branch.

Ideally, we're looking for someone to work up to 33.5 hours per week, across Monday - Friday with no weekends or out of hours.

A bit about us

One of our strongest assets is our fantastic team that's composed of: 2x small animal CDs, 8 x vets (ranging from 1 - 19 yrs qualified), 11 qualified VNs, 3 VCAs and a good team of receptionists and support staff. Our clinical team have further certifications in areas like PgC in Small Animal Ophthalmology, CertAVP and Small Animal medicine. Both the Ashbourne site offers all of the equipment that you'd come to expect of a modern practice, offering ultrasound, digital X-ray, dental Xray is shortly arriving, tonopen, orthopaedic kit and laprascope just to name a few!
