The practice
Our accredited cat friendly, rabbit friendly and small animal training practice Gloucester Barnwood Vets for Pets has an exciting opportunity for a like-minded GP vet to join our great team!
The practice has gone from strength to strength since opening in 2015 and is now an extremely successful business, providing a first-class service to our loyal client base. Many of our team have been with us since the early days and we pride ourselves on not only providing excellent care to our clients, but also to each other!
Owner and veterinary surgeon Ina Berzanskiene, qualified from Lithuanian Veterinary Academy in 2009 and has been working in the UK since 2015, becoming the owner of Gloucester Barnwood in 2021.
Our team
As well as being supported by Ina, you'll also be working alongside another full time Vet with six years' experience post qualification, and we are delighted to be welcoming a new graduate in September 2025. We have an outstanding team of nurses who encouraged and drove our success in becoming a training practice. Our clinical team are also supported by an equally brilliant and welcoming team of Client Care Advisors, a VCA and student nurses and we also benefit from a visiting orthopaedic, imaging and ophthalmology referral service.
As a whole team we try to meet regularly, more often in our immediate teams. And with communication being key in a busy practice, we have an open and flexible approach the rest of the time.
A typical day
Our days are structured well with 15-minute consults as standard which are normally worked in blocks of 3 followed by another 15-minute block afterwards, to catch up and take a break. On weekdays, we are open until 7pm with the last routine appointment at 6.15pm, again ensuring plenty of catch-up time. The same goes for Saturdays with the practice closing at 5pm, with the last routine appointment at 4pm. This role will include a shared weekend rota of 1 in 4 Saturdays, with the hours during the week being open to discussion. We do not open on bank holidays.
