We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join our compassionate team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to animal welfare and the ability to perform a variety of surgical procedures. This role requires a thorough understanding of veterinary medicine, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose conditions.
Perform surgical procedures, including routine spays and neuters, as well as more complex surgeries as required.
Administer anaesthesia and monitor patients during surgical procedures to ensure their safety and comfort.
Provide post-operative care and follow-up consultations for patients.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all patients treated.
Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure high standards of care are maintained.
Educate pet owners on preventative care, treatment options, and post-surgical care instructions.
Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuous professional development.
Experience
A degree in Veterinary Medicine (BVSc or equivalent) is essential, along with full registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
Previous experience in a veterinary practice is highly desirable, particularly in performing surgical procedures.
Familiarity with laboratory techniques and diagnostics is advantageous.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues alike.
