Role overview
The Vice President, Operations Transport is a key strategic and operational leader responsible for shaping and executing the vision within the Transport division by driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and sustainable growth across all transportation services.
The VP will lead large-scale initiatives, optimize performance, and foster innovation in a complex, safety-critical environment ensuring efficient delivery of services, optimising performance across all business units, and delivering long-term growth strategies.
Key responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Oversee operations across the Transport portfolio, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, safe, and compliant services.
Develop and implement operational strategies, frameworks, and processes that drive efficiency and enhance service performance.
Develop cross-functional, high-performing teams to ensure operational alignment with strategic goals.
Drive large-scale transformation initiatives, including digitalisation, sustainability, and infrastructure optimisation.
Strategic Planning & Execution
Partner with the VP to develop a Transport Sector Growth Strategy to support the Enterprise targets and market sector.
Partner with the VP to translate the enterprise strategy into divisional operational plans, KPIs, and measurable outcomes.
Identify opportunities for growth within the Key Strategic Accounts, modernisation, and continuous improvement across transportation operations.
Financial & Performance Management
Manage budgets, forecasts, and P&L accountability for transportation operations.
Drive cost optimisation and resource efficiency while maintaining service standards.
Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions to achieve financial targets.
Monitor performance dashboards, ensuring timely reporting and corrective actions where needed.
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure all operations adhere to regulatory, safety, and environmental standards within both transport and aviation sectors.
Implement robust risk-management processes and develop mitigation strategies for operational disruptions.
Champion a culture of safety, quality, and continuous compliance improvement.
People and Culture
Provide leadership, mentoring, coaching, and direction to operational managers and teams across the BU.
Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on accountability, innovation, and excellence.
Support workforce planning, talent development, and change-management activities.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal partners, government agencies, regulatory bodies, service providers, and industry stakeholders.
Represent the organisation in strategic industry forums, regulatory discussions, and key customer engagements.
Required skills and experience
FM solutions experience, Engineering, Aviation, or a related field, master's degree preferred.
10-15+ years of senior operational leadership experience, ideally within transport, aviation, logistics, or large-scale infrastructure.
Proven track record in managing multi-site, safety-critical, regulated operations.
Strong financial acumen, with experience in managing large budgets and complex P&L structures.
Proven ability to deliver operational transformations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
