Job Description

This is an entry level, 4-day a week position which focuses on video editing, alongside other general production duties including camera work.

The ideal candidate is highly motivated to get their foot in the door in the world of video editing, learning on the job. NO professional experience is required, just motivation and a creative inclination.

The candidate ideally will be passionate and knowledgeable about the world of YouTube and music. The candidate is comfortable working with a small team from ideation to production. Applicants must be creative, collaborative, and organised with an eye for detail.

Basics

EMPLOYER: Joe Jenkins Limited

BASED: Based in Bristol, UK. Initially onsite with the option to go hybrid once proficient.

HOURS: 4 days a week. Must be able to work weekends for shoot days

SALARY: 31k pro rata (25k actual)

Initial commitment: Full time role - 4 days per week

Overview

Joe Jenkins is the creator of a piano-based YouTube channel in Bristol with 4 million subscribers.

Most videos see Joe playing piano in a public setting, for example by Bristol's Harbourside or in Broadmead. The videos are typically structured around a specific set of cover songs and frequently involve interactions with members of the public who showcase their own musical talents.

Other videos include piano-based stunts for example playing piano underwater, although more recently these are less common.

Role

This role will involve working incredibly closely alongside Joe to manage and produce all projects from start to finish, though with a primary focus on editing as well as camera work on some weekends. The role will be an integral part of Joe's team as one of only two employees. The candidate will be alongside Joe and team on all things creative, working with analytics and audience feedback to ensure the strongest possible output and growth of the channel.

Responsibilities

Oversee production and post production on all content including shoot logistics and editing Edit videos to a high degree while considering narrative and viewer retention Camera work (no experience required!) Communicating with brands to ensure standards are met Repurposing content for other social media and creating exclusive short-form content Occasional heavy lifting of pianos required

About you

A strong passion about creating YouTube content A self-starter Somebody that is creative-orientated and will regularly contribute creative ideas for content, storytelling and formats Comfortable working with a very small team Based in Bristol or surrounding areas, or willing to relocate Comfortable with being on camera occasionally Ability to work weekends Engagement in pop culture, and an awareness of trending songs, anime songs, video game music and the culture surrounding them

Skills and experience

No professional experience required but eager to learn (we use Adobe creative suite) A portfolio of personal creative projects is a bonus Excellent communication and organisational skills Bonuses include - full UK drivers license, a musical ear, strong and willing to help move pianos
