Site-Eye is the UK's leading provider of time-lapse filming for the construction industry working on projects nationwide and overseas. We work within a range of sectors, including commercial and domestic developments, renewable energy, infrastructure and film.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for 2 full-time video editors to join the team in our Hebden Bridge office.
You will be taking over a role that currently processes and maintains hundreds of videos a month. This is not a traditional editing based role; although creative flair is needed, a lot of the job is basic editing and file management.
You'll be working within a small company for high-end clients in the construction and media sector and meeting their demands.
The role forms part of a new post-production team working on projects across the UK and worldwide. Every month hundreds of time-lapse edits are produced so the role includes a large amount of workflow management and processing. To be able to maintain a high level of quality the role requires ongoing communications with the internal team as well as external clients.
Responsibilities
Editing of time-lapse videos to remove periods of non-activity
Managing a comprehensive workflow to ensure you stay on task
Compiling monthly videos
Acting as point of contact for clients throughout their project and responding to client requests for footage
Distributing monthly videos and any requests to the clients
Managing the constant archiving of the image/video content generated, including a comprehensive backup of all materials
Maintaining an orderly system for accessing and processing individual projects
Working to strict deadlines for delivering material needed for time-sensitive client requests
Creating a high-quality final deliverable at the end of a project within a reasonable timeframe
Delivering a high quality final film, using creativity for designing and implementing motion-graphic text, at the end of a project within a reasonable time frame
Liaising with the wider team to maintain an overview of new and existing projects
Aiding the camera installers to check composition/focus
Skills
Good working knowledge of Final Cut Pro X
Comfortable working on a Mac (we are an entirely Mac base editing department)
Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects
Adaptability in learning new programs
Problem solving in the face of technological and program issues
Understanding of the various video file formats
Ability to take direction and work collaboratively
Can handle periods of working independently
Creative eye for layout design of edits, motion-graphics and basic grading
Good organisational skills (we work with hundreds of thousands of digital files so being organised and methodical is essential as the candidate will also be involved in backing up and archiving material)
Good written and spoken English to communicate with clients via phone and email
Good people skills for working as a team and communicating to clients
Right personality to thrive in a small, non-corporate working environment
