Our client is a leading online publishing company dedicated to delivering high-quality digital content across various niches. They are looking for an exceptional Server Administrator to join their hosting team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to tackle complex technical challenges and implement innovative solutions to enhance system reliability and performance.
As a Server Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of the server and data storage infrastructure, which includes both traditional and cloud-based Linux servers. You will play a critical role in maintaining system availability, resolving technical issues, and supporting the Web Development team to ensure optimal performance.
Responsibilities
Server Management & Maintenance:
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve virtual server outages/issues to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
Infrastructure Reliability:
Perform routine server maintenance, updates, and security patches to maintain a stable environment.
Domain & DNS Management:
Fully own and manage all tasks related to domain name management and DNS configurations.
Application & Software Installation:
Install, configure, and optimize web servers, portals, and associated software products to support the company's hosting needs.
Security & Performance Optimization:
Implement best practices to enhance system security, prevent cyber threats, and optimize server performance.
Collaboration & Support:
Work closely with the Web Development team to provide server-side solutions and technical support when needed.
Qualifications
Strong experience in Linux Server Administration and managing virtualized environments.
Expertise in WordPress Hosting & Management, ensuring seamless performance and security.
Proficiency in PHP & MySQL Database Management for web applications.
Hands-on experience with Plesk Control Panel and cloud hosting environments.
Knowledge of server security protocols, firewalls, and performance optimization techniques.
Ability to troubleshoot complex server-related issues and implement effective solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills, time management, and ability to prioritize tasks.
Additional Information
Job Type:
Full-time/Fully Remote (40 hrs/week - 8 hrs/day)
Work Arrangement:
Monday to Friday (Flexible working days with 2 hours of overlap with the Chicago time zone)
