Child Care, Employability and Functional Skills Tutor

Contract: Term time only, 41 weeks per year.

Hours of work: 8.45am to 5.15 pm - 2 days per week

Salary: up to 30,000 per annum (pro rata for part time/term time only contract). Actual salary dependent on qualifications and experience and will be confirmed at appointment.

The Role:

Central Training Group invites applications for the position of Child Care, Employability & Functional Skills Tutor at our training center in Clacton on Sea.

Key Responsibilities:

Engagement and Delivery: Design and deliver interactive sessions aimed at promoting personal development and growth among students as well as delivering accredited qualifications in Childcare, Occupational Studies and Employability. Deliver and support students with Functional Skills Maths and English from Entry level a though to Level 2. Tailored Support: Customise sessions to address the unique needs of student groups, covering topics such as online safety, sexual violence prevention, and British Values. Student Development: Implement student-centered programs emphasising softer outcomes to facilitate positive progression into adulthood. Employability Focus: Enhance students' work readiness through targeted initiatives and support. Pastoral Support: Provide personalised pastoral tutorials, guiding students to relevant internal and external resources as needed. Support students with targeted work experience and social action projects. Liaise with the wider team regarding safeguarding, attendance, progress and achievements.
The successful applicant will need to have a minimum of 3 years experience within a child care setting, hold a full assessor's award, TAQA or equivalent and have experience of delivering Functional Skills in English and Maths.

A minimum of 3 years' experience of classroom delivery and assessment is also required.

You must have achieved Grade A*-C (or equivalent) in English and Maths, and a teaching qualification is desirable but not essential. Strong ICT skills, organisation skills, and the ability to work on your own initiative are essential and you must also have experience in using electronic portfolios.

Please note that this is not a remote or hybrid role.
