Job Description

Axtell Limited is a long established and expanding supplier of goods and services to the construction industry. From our Hurtmore depot, near Godalming in Surrey, we supply products and services including ready-mix concrete, screed, aggregates, muck-away, grab and concrete pump hire, to the surrounding area. We also supply rapid set concrete for highways and bridge repairs nationwide.

We are looking for qualified HGV drivers to join our team. Your job will be supplying our domestic and commercial customers with ready mix concrete and you will be driving and operating Axtell volumetric mixers. Experience in operating a volumetric mixer is not necessary, as full training will be given.

Tasks and duties will include:

Delivering, batching, and pouring concrete. Operating mixer. Loading mixer with loading shovel (full training given). Carrying out regular vehicle maintenance and daily checks. Making sure that the load is correctly secured by use of an easy sheet. Issuing receipts. Customer service.
To successfully secure this opportunity, you must:

Hold a HGV Class 2 licence. Have a digital-tacho card and driver CPC. Be reliable, punctual, and self-motivated. Take pride in maintaining your vehicle and understand the importance of health and safety. Be capable and confident and able to work without constant supervision. Have a good geographical knowledge of our operating area. Have a positive attitude towards maintaining and improving health and safety standards.

We offer top rates of pay and are currently happy to consider hiring on a full time basis or as a self employed contractor. In addition to daywork, we undertake supplies of specialist concrete to the highways industry nationally, with the opportunity to undertake night/weekend work at higher pay rates.
