Job Description

A voluntary opportunity to make a positive impact in a young person's life by committing to a few hours, once a month with up to 30 per visit expenses including travel.

We are looking for adult befrienders to befriend a young person in care and meet once a month. The monthly visit may include going for a walk (park or beach), a hot chocolate or a meal, the cinema, to watch a sports game, cycling, whatever the young person chooses (within reason).

National Youth Advocacy Service empowers young people in the care system to have their voice listened to. Our trusted adults act as "befriender, mentor, role model" - someone who takes them out on a fun activity once a month, for a minimum of two years. Children in the care have complex needs and an INDEPENDENT person who gives their time VOLUNTARY means a lot to their personal growth and development.
