Job Description

We're looking for a dedicated and organised Volunteer Coordinator to grow and lead our volunteer programme, ensuring every volunteer has a rewarding experience while making a difference for dogs in need.

Key Responsibilities & Outputs



Programme Development



Ensure the volunteering framework maximises the effectiveness of the volunteer programme.

Develop a range of inclusive volunteering opportunities across the organisation.

Implement a volunteer recruitment strategy that will deliver an extensive pool of diverse and engaged volunteers to ensure the operational needs of Hope Rescue are met.

Deliver a volunteer engagement strategy that ensures all volunteers have a rewarding experience, whilst effectively contributing to Hope Rescue's development.

Develop, implement and manage a volunteer training programme to develop the skills volunteers require to deliver Hope Rescue's operational and strategic goals.

Develop and maintain a volunteer database, ensuring efficient and appropriate data capture and data analysis.

Develop and design volunteering impact reports.

Business Partner Support



Provide support for recruitment and volunteer engagement.

Support business partners with the development of volunteer role descriptions

Co-ordinate and manage volunteering communications, including volunteering enquiries.

Manage requests for support and advice related to volunteering practice.

Deliver the volunteer induction programme to maximise volunteer engagement.

Plan, coordinate and provide support for online and in person volunteering events.

Ensure compliance with Safeguarding policies and procedures in line with Hope Rescue, statutory and best practice standards and rules.

Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures in line with Hope Rescue and statutory standards and rules, ensuring the safety of all persons and pets on and off site at all times..

Qualifications & Experience



Essential:



4 GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths OR vocational qualification in a relevant subject e.g. management

Full manual driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Proven experience of developing and delivering successful volunteer recruitment, training and engagement programmes.

Proven experience of building relationships with external organisations and associations to create and promote volunteering programmes.

Managing projects and associated budgets.

Monitoring and evaluation of volunteer programmes.

Experience of using volunteer management systems or CRMs.

Recording and managing data, and reporting on volunteer programme metrics and outcomes.

Knowledge of the needs and experiences of volunteers from a diverse range of backgrounds.

Knowledge of volunteer management good practice including an understanding of current volunteering trends, challenges and solutions.

Able to establish and maintain appropriate systems for the management and accurate recording of volunteer programmes.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to network, build and manage effective relationships with a wide range of partners, volunteers and stakeholders.

Proficiency in Office 365 including Word, SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

Up to date knowledge of GDPR.

A good understanding of health and safety principles and procedures.

A passion for volunteering.

A self-starter, highly motivated and organised.

Excellent attention to detail.

Professional, proactive, positive and enthusiastic, with a strong work ethic and "can do" attitude.

Adaptable and flexible work approach, open to change.

Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues to ensure a fully joined-up approach.

Desirable:



Experience of delivering effective marketing and communications campaigns.
