Job Description

The Inspire Project, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, aims to enhance employability and service delivery by integrating lived experience into grassroots organisations. A Lived Experience Advisory Board Member will review training programmes, provide recommendations, and support co-production, fostering opportunities for marginalised communities through tailored mentoring and holistic support.

Service Overview




The Inspire Project is an exciting 3-year project, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. Over 3 years the project will support grass roots organisations to embed lived experience into their service delivery so they can build service capacity and better serve the communities they support. Through the project a lived experience peer hub will also improve the employability of marginalised communities by supporting 100 individuals with lived experience of adversity into volunteering and paid employment through a programme of tailored and person-centred training, mentoring and holistic support.


Your role as a

Lived Experience Advisory Board Member

is pivotal to the development of future services and increased opportunities for people with lived experience. You will review Inspire's employability and training programme by attending training sessions and reviewing materials delivered and produced by the Inspire team to identify strengths and areas for improvement, making suggestions on how to better the service.


As part of the role and as a requirement as a St Giles Trust volunteer, you will attend induction training including safeguarding, equality and diversity, professional boundaries, trauma informed practice and evaluation and board member training. We will also work with you to support your development.

Participate actively in initial training and keep up to date with mandatory training. Develop recommendations by reviewing information, materials and attending Inspire training. Support the development of future delivery through co-production, co-design and consultation, if needed. Attend monthly supervision with the Engagement and Development Lead.
