Newquay Foodbank are looking for Sessions Volunteers at our Early Thursday Logistics sessions at St Michaels Church in Newquay. Running from 8.00 - 10.30

Following guidance from the Session Manager you will make sure that clients get the support they need both by the receipt of a Foodbank parcel and the signposting on to further support as required.

Supporting a welcoming and non-judgemental environment for both volunteers and clients alike and treating all with the dignity and respect they deserve.

Your support will make a real impact within the community, ensuring families and individuals who are facing the very real issue of food poverty are not alone and receive the help they need.

What will you be doing?

Following guidance from the Session Lead you will be preparing the Foodbank to open to visitors. You will be sorting and weighing stock as it enters the site. Packing parcels as directed by the session lead. Ensure shelves are stocked correctly Ensure the Foodbank is clean and ready to open Be mindful of safe working practice and Health and Safety Guidelines.

The skills you need:

A commitment to the organisation and willingness to devote the necessary time and effort. An ability to work effectively as a member of a team. Organised and self-motivated. A willingness and confidence to speak your mind. An ability to think creatively. Good communication skills. An eye for accuracy and detail. Good level of physical fitness as there will be lifting involved
