Volunteer Minibus Driver at Home-Start Warrington and Cheshire

Home-Start Warrington and Cheshire is an independent registered charity working to support families with children under the age of 5 years. We are looking to recruit volunteer Minibus drivers to assist with the transportation of our families from their homes to designated activity venues and taking them home again afterwards. The role itself contributes to achieving a positive impact for our families many of which will have little or no access to their own transportation.

A full induction is delivered by the Community Bus representatives prior to the commencement of any driving duties.

Main Responsibilities

1. The safe and considerate driving of our families from their homes to the designated venue and return

2. The planning of the required route in conjunction with the Home-Start Administration Team

3. In conjunction with the Passenger Assistant assisting the families to enter and vacate the minibus ensuring that their safety and physical needs are met

4. Ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy by completion of the daily check list that is provided by the Community Bus and reporting back to them any issues that are observed

Requirements for the role

1. A full clean driving license

2. An enhanced DBS check will be undertaken as part of the onboarding to become a volunteer

3. A helpful, patient and caring attitude
