Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safeguarding Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that Flint Town United maintains the highest standards of safeguarding across all club activities, working closely with staff, volunteers, players, and external organisations to promote the safety and welfare of all involved.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for all safeguarding concerns, disclosures, or incidents within the club.
Develop, implement, and maintain the club's safeguarding policies and procedures in line with FAW, FA, and legal requirements.
Ensure all staff, volunteers, and coaches are aware of their safeguarding responsibilities and receive appropriate training.
Maintain accurate records of safeguarding concerns and actions taken, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
Liaise with external agencies (police, social services, FAW safeguarding team) when required.
Monitor and review safeguarding practices regularly to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Support the club in creating a safe and inclusive environment for players of all ages and abilities.
Requirements
Proven experience in safeguarding, child protection, or welfare roles (football or sports environment preferred).
Knowledge of FAW, FA, and government safeguarding policies and legislation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues professionally.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Relevant safeguarding/child protection qualifications (FAW Safeguarding Level 1 or 2, or equivalent) preferred.
