This is an unpaid volunteer/work experience role

- We are

ALL volunteers meaning more of our income(almost all after property and stock costs) goes to our local good causes.

The role will not usually involve retail work, although shop floor training will be given and the candidate may need to assist when the shop is short staffed/busy.

Candidates will need to be local to Wolverhampton, UK with right to work and good standard of literacy/numeracy.

Job Summary


We are seeking a proactive and organised Administrative Assistant to support our team with a variety of clerical and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities within our organisation. This UNPAID position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your administrative skills in a friendly environment, contributing to efficient office management and customer service excellence.

Responsibilities



Working as part of a team to assist the overworked manager with;

Researching and pricing stock Assist with daily, weekly and monthly accounts both paper based and on computer Assist with recruitment, advertising, fundraising and promotion activities. Increase online sales using existing sites(Facebook marketplace, eBay) and opening new channels (vinted, shpock etc). Increase our social media presence. Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence, ensuring timely responses and effective communication. Create, maintain and update organisational records, files, and databases with accuracy and confidentiality. Assist with scheduling appointments, collections, deliveries, meetings, and events, coordinating logistics as needed. Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and other documentation for internal and external use, including making grant applications. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing enquiries promptly and professionally. Collaborate with team members to streamline administrative processes and improve office efficiency. Handle basic IT support tasks such as troubleshooting common issues. Perform general office duties including ordering supplies, managing mail, and maintaining a tidy workspace.

Skills



Experience in an administrative or clerical role is desirable. Good customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Good IT literacy, including proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email management systems. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and initiative. This position is ideal for individuals seeking to start or enhance their administrative expertise within a supportive friendly setting.
