About the Role
We're seeking Social Welfare Advisors who bring more than qualifications we're looking for people with real stories, real insight, and a desire to make things easier for others.
In this role, you'll offer practical advice and emotional support to people navigating difficult systems whether they're struggling with housing, care needs, benefits, or just understanding their rights. You'll be part of a supportive team that values lived experience and community connection as much as formal training.
You might be someone who:
Has supported a family member or neighbour through a tough process
Has experience as a carer, community worker, or volunteer
Has moved to the UK and now helps others find their way
Speaks one or more of the following languages:
Urdu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Bengali, Arabic, French, Ukrainian, Polish, Romanian, Yoruba, Igbo, Swahili, Somali, Amharic, Tigrinya
Understands how it feels to not be listened to and wants to change that
What You'll Be Doing
Giving advice and support on issues like housing, benefits, social care, and accessing health services
Using your story and system knowledge to guide others
Offering support in your community language, if you speak one
Helping people understand their rights and feel confident taking the next step
Working alongside a team who cares deeply about dignity, justice, and accessibility
