, is building a purpose-driven food sustainability platform designed to combat edible food waste and hunger. We connect surplus food from retailers, restaurants, and manufacturers to individuals and charities through an intelligent, data-driven system.

As we scale, we are building a next-generation accounting and settlement engine to handle multi-party financial transactions--securely, transparently, and in real time.

Role Overview

We are seeking a

Software Engineer (Fintech Systems & Ledger Automation)

to design and develop the core financial backbone of our platform. You'll work closely with our CFO and technical leadership to architect and implement systems for ledger consolidation, settlement automation, and escrow fund management--all at scale.

What You'll Do

Design and implement a distributed ledger system for transaction recording, reconciliation, and reporting. Develop and optimize settlement pipelines handling payments, commissions, VAT, and deferred revenue. Build APIs and microservices that interact with payment gateways (Stripe, Mangopay, etc.) for real-time fund movement. Create reconciliation automation tools to ensure accuracy between platform records, bank statements, and third-party systems. Collaborate with data and finance teams to produce auditable financial reporting and dashboards. Ensure all systems comply with FCA and financial data integrity standards.

Skills & Experience

We're looking for individuals with experience similar to:

3+ years in backend or distributed systems engineering. Deep knowledge of fintech or accounting domain systems (e.g., ledgers, settlements, reconciliation, cash accounting). Expertise in React. Strong understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, and data pipelines. Experience integrating with payment processors (Stripe, Adyen, Mangopay, or similar). Familiarity with PostgreSQL, or similar for distributed data handling. Prior work with ledger consolidation or financial data automation is a huge plus. Collaborative and documentation-driven mindset.
