volunteer

role involves driving, collecting and delivering goods alone or with another driver in our Charity van while ensuring the highest standards of service, safety and representation of the Charity at all times.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in delivery driving, being a drivers mate and collections from the public. This person will play a crucial role in maintaining efficient operations within our Charity shops and logistics framework.

Duties

Ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents. Collaborate with shop staff to manage collections/deliveries effectively. Communicate effectively with the public and team members to provide updates on delivery status or any issues that may arise.

Skills

Proven experience in driving, particularly as a delivery/collectins driver. Knowledge of minor vehicle issues. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with the public and team members. Organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
