Volunteer Minibus Driver (9-Seater Fiat Ducato)

Role Purpose

To safely transport children to and from scheduled events, activities, and outings using a 9-seater Fiat Ducato minibus. Ensure the wellbeing, comfort, and safety of passengers throughout the journey while representing the organization in a friendly and responsible manner.

Key Responsibilities

Safely drive the 9-seater Fiat Ducato to transport children to events, activities, and outings. Complete pre-trip vehicle safety checks (fuel, tires, seatbelts, lights, cleanliness). Assist children when boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring seatbelts are fastened. Follow all road traffic laws, speed limits, and safeguarding procedures. Maintain a calm, friendly, and supportive environment during journeys. Report any vehicle faults, incidents, or concerns to the Volunteer Coordinator. Keep records of mileage, journey logs, and attendance where required. Work closely with staff, chaperones, or event leaders to ensure smooth coordination. Represent the organization positively in public and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Skills, Qualifications & Requirements

Full, clean driving licence Minimum age 25 Confident and competent driving larger vehicles such as minibuses or vans. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children and adults. Reliable, punctual, and dependable. Friendly, patient, and safety-conscious demeanour. Willingness to undergo DBS/child safeguarding checks and basic training.
