Working Hours:

1931.4 annualised hours Monday - Sunday.

Location:

Work From Home - Regular travel to Foxton Locks and the Canal Museum Stoke Bruerne.



The Destinations & Attractions Volunteer leader will play a key role in the creation, development and ongoing management of a team of Visitor Experience/Event volunteering team whose activity will be focused on Foxton Locks and the Canal Museum Stoke Bruerne. The VL will work with the Destinations & Attractions Manager to plan and deliver a broad range of dynamic volunteer-led activities and events for a wide range of audiences. The programme will focus on paid for events to generate income along with value-added activity aiming to support increasing charitable donations at our destinations. The role will also support events activity and charitable giving at other regional destinations as required. The new volunteer teams led by the volunteer leader, will also support day to day operations in our Welcome Station at Foxton and cafe/museum and shop at Stoke Bruerne.



This exciting new role will also support the Destinations & Attractions Manager to develop and manage a range of external stakeholder relationships and partnerships to deliver innovative volunteer projects to diversify and grow new audiences at sites. These include developing academic partnerships with colleges, universities and Duke of Edinburgh amongst others.



The regularity & flexibility of travel will be discussed further at interview stage.



About the role

Develop and lead a new customer facing, visitor focused team of volunteers to deliver and support public activity and events across regional destinations and attractions Grow and diversify the volunteering team, leading on national and local recruitment campaigns Develop communication and management tools to keep existing and new volunteers informed, connected and engaged with the Trust Build and manage volunteer resources including appropriate PPE, for activity delivery and promote a strong safety culture Co-ordination of training for all volunteers to maintain and improve skills levels necessary to carry out tasks and activity Work with the Destination & Attractions Manager and other regional colleagues to create a dynamic annual events/activity plan organised, led and delivered by volunteers, particularly at Foxton Locks Support the marketing and promotion of activity using posters, social media, website and other media channels Displaying the Trust values and behaviours at all times

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:



Experience of working in a customer service environment Proven experience of delivering works to time, specification and budget Proven experience of working with and leading volunteers Some experience in line management Delivering projects Experience of working with a range of internal and external stakeholders/partners Good interpersonal and communication skills Full UK driving licence
