Volunteering Services Assistant


BASE:

Barton/Knowsley - some regional travel required (Hybrid)

DEPARTMENT:

Volunteering (People and Culture Team)


REPORTING TO:

Head of Volunteer Engagement

WORKING HOURS:

35 hours per week

SALARY:

25,000-26,000

Overall purpose of the role:





The Volunteering Services Assistant role is primarily responsible for ensuring the smooth running of administrative and operational functions within the volunteering team.


You will be involved in tracking projects, managing administrative processes, and tracking compliance. You will also provide support for the volunteering team and more widely will play a key role in a high quality volunteer experience.

Main duties and responsibilities:




You will be responsible for:

Managing volunteer specific resources, equipment and the distribution of resources to staff and volunteers Assisting with the administration, monitoring and reporting of volunteering services across all areas of the charity Maintaining and updating volunteer records, templates and processes on the charity CRM/VMS Providing accurate information and guidance to volunteers, responding to enquiries and signposting where appropriate Supporting volunteer recruitment, ensuring a smooth process and a high quality volunteer experience for all Supporting internal and volunteer specific communications Tracking projects including the administration and co-ordination of volunteer training, volunteering projects and events Working collaboratively with regional Volunteer Co-ordinators to deliver face to face activity including any major growth, training, or volunteering engagement events Working collaboratively across the volunteering team to support new initiatives Feeding into the strategic development of the high-quality volunteering programme

Experience

Experience in an administrative role

Working on multiple projects or work streams


Work with volunteers



Skills


Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Organisation

Digital proficiency including Microsoft packages

Logistics experience

Use of CRM, VMS, finance systems
