In this challenging role in Financial Crime Compliance team, you'll be supporting the identification, management and monitoring of Financial Crime (FC) risks associated with the Bank's customers and third-parties in order to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
You'll use your data and systems experience combined with your FC knowledge to lead the investigation and analysis of potentially suspicious activity and emerging FC typologies.

The difference you'll make:
Overseeing relevant monitoring systems and controls to ensure new developments, thresholds, and scenarios are appropriate for the Bank's activity and services (including system testing, calibration and tuning)
Using data analysis to identify client or transaction risk and overseeing the threat mitigation program to facilitate the proactive identification and detection of emerging financial crime risks
Receiving and assessing escalations of suspicious activity from other teams
Investigating cases using internal and external information sources and liaising with other Santander teams
Leading interaction with UK Law Enforcement agencies and other relevant industry bodies
Recording the relevant management information for analysis and recommendation to relevant stakeholders and committees
What you'll bring:
These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:
Extensive experience of investigating Financial Crime related activity and filing suspicious activity reports
Demonstrable experience of using systems and software to analyse data
Excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
In-depth knowledge of Financial Crime risks and how these are managed
It would also be nice for you to have:
Industry recognised Financial Crime qualification, ACAMS, ICA or equivalent
Meticulous attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to make decisions and build positive relationships with stakeholders
Well-developed organisational, planning and prioritisation skills

This role is based at our offices in Triton Square, London located within easy walking distance from Warren Street and Euston.

Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus
